A connector position assurance (CPA) device for ensuring complete engagement of a female connector assembly and a male connector assembly in a connector device, the connector device comprising a female connector when the CPA device is in a full lock position. The assembly and the male connector assembly are engaged together. The CPA device is in the pre-locked position within the female connector assembly before the CPA device is in the fully locked position. The female connector assembly enters the male connector assembly for engagement with the male connector assembly. At such times, the protruding member of the flexible member of the female connector assembly enters the lateral elongated slot of the male connector assembly. When the CPA device in the pre-locked position is further pushed into the female connector assembly, the side ledge set extending from the CPA device prevents the flexible member of the female connector assembly from being moved or pushed, and thus the CPA device.
