METHOD OF AUTONOMOUS GEOLOCATION OF A PERSON MOVING ON FOOT OR BY MEANS OF A NON-MOTORIZED MACHINE AND ASSOCIATED DEVICE

The invention relates to an autonomous geolocation method and associated device for determining the position of a person moving on foot or by means of a non-motorized displacement machine from inertial data measured during the movement of said person. An elementary mode of movement is recognized by comparing the measured inertial data with predetermined signatures, each signature being previously associated in a unique manner with an elementary mode of movement independently of the person considered. The speed and direction of movement of the person are then estimated as a function of the recognized elementary mode of movement and all or part of the measured inertial data. The position of said person is then evaluated as a function of the estimated speed and direction of movement and of the position evaluated during a previous iteration.
