Modify additive manufacturing part designs using topological analysis

摘要

A topological analysis is used to determine the structural integrity of an additive manufacturing part. A difference set between a design time model and a manufacturing time model is calculated. The discrepancy between the design-time model and the manufacturing-time model is determined based on computing the local topological properties of the under-deposited (UD) and over-deposited (OD) features of the difference set. Based on this discrepancy, the inputs to the manufacturing equipment are modified such that the inputs to the manufacturing equipment reduce the topological difference between the as-manufactured model and the design-time model.
