The present invention provides a power assembly (100) and a garden tool (200) having the power assembly (100). The power assembly (100) comprises a housing (1), a driving unit (2) received in the housing (1) and a power supplying unit (3) received in the housing (1) for powering the driving unit (2). The driving unit (2) includes a driving motor (21) and a control panel assembly (22) located upon the driving motor (21). The housing (1) has at least one heat dissipation air duct formed therein for airflow passing through the driving unit (2). The heat dissipation air duct has an air inlet (161; 171) for air intaking and an air outlet (162; 172) for air flowing out, and the air outlet (162; 172) is located at a bottom of the housing (1) and open towards a lateral side of the housing (1). So that the airflow entering the housing (1) through the air inlet (161; 171) can sequentially flow through the control panel assembly (22) and the driving motor (21), and finally flow out of the housing through the air outlet (162; 172) to take away the heat generated by the driving unit (2), such that the working temperature of the driving unit (2) can be reduced and the working efficiency of the power assembly can be improved.
