The present invention discloses a parallel execution method and apparatus in a terminal database, so as to resolve a problem that if there are different cores such as a big core and a little core in a terminal CPU, parallel execution cannot be implemented in the terminal database by using multiple cores. The method includes: determining, by a terminal, each thread CPU based on a preset degree of parallelism, where the degree of parallelism is a quantity of threads executed in parallel; obtaining, by the terminal, a frequency of each thread CPU, and calculating a frequency proportion of the thread CPUs; dividing, by the terminal, a to-be-queried data table in the terminal database into data partitions based on the frequency proportion of the thread CPUs, and determining a data partition corresponding to each thread CPU; and querying in parallel, by the terminal, data in the corresponding data partition by using each thread CPU. In this way, parallel processing of a query instruction can be performed on a corresponding data partition by using each thread CPU, thereby greatly improving execution efficiency of a parallel query performed by a terminal on a database.
