System and method for enabling a plurality of media feeds F 1 , F 2 , such as internet radio stations, to be played through a standard media player 14, such as a radio receiving device, using the tuning or input selection controls p(t) of the media player 14 to control the selection of which media feed F 2 to play. Identification signatures S m (t) are added to channels C(t) and transmitted x(t) to the media player 14 by transmitter 50. A controller 90 captures the playback output 10 of the media player 14 and, if it detects one of the signature signals S m (t), instructs the media feed selector 2 to select a media feed F 3 which corresponds to the detected identification signature. The selected audio feed F 3 is then transmitted to the media player 14 on the corresponding channel x(t) for playback.
