The invention relates to a device for testing a solar array of a satellite or a solar-powered drone, the solar array comprising a matrix of single-junction or multi-junction solar cells, each junction being designed to convert photons of a respective wavelength band into electrical current, the test device comprising: a matrix of light sources, comprising at least one row of light sources, each light source of the matrix being designed to emit light into each of the wavelength bands for electrical conversion of the at least one junction of the solar cells; and a unit for controlling the matrix of light sources, designed to control individually the switching-on and switching-off of each of the light sources of the matrix, the matrix of light sources also being configured so as to be able to selectively illuminate each solar cell of the solar array by the switching-on of at least one light source of the matrix, with a surface light intensity received by the solar cell of higher than at least 130W/m².
