A facility (1) for handling articles (2, 3), comprising: - a conveyor (4); - a motorisation of the conveyor (4); - a brake (14) which blocks or releases the conveyor (4); - a secure manual actuator (38) connected to the brake (14); - a member (19) for manually driving the conveyor (4); - a structure (27) housing the conveyor (4) and comprising : o a main door (31) for access to a main maintenance area (29), o an annex door (32) for access to an annex maintenance area (30), o a housing (35) for a lever (21) for actuating the manual driving member (19); a control unit (18), programmed to control the locking of the annex door (32) depending on the position of the main door (31), the state of the secure manual actuator (38) and the presence of the lever (21) in its housing (35).
