Device and method for impregnating a filament, comprising: a sponge for applying an impregnation material over the filament; a sponger compartment for guiding the sponge; a pressure means arranged to push the sponge inside the sponger compartment; a rotatable drum for supporting and tensioning the filament and receive the impregnation material; a vertical support for supporting the previous element; wherein the lateral of the drum is in contact with the sponge. The impregnated fibre of the present disclosure may be use in different substrates, namely reinforce-composite material. Such materials have broad proven applications especially in the automotive, aircraft and aerospace sectors.
