Abstract. Displaced autochtonous, owners of new allotments in Douala, have run their quarters in different ways. At Ngodi the Akwa actually inhabit the ground which, then, appears as a classical african village. But the Bell, in New Bell, rent it at such a high rate that it became the well to do quarter of Douala.
