Summary. — The coins mentioned in an act of sale of consecrated land of the city of Philippoi dating from the second half of the 4th century ВС could be silver « Thraco-Mace- donian » weight drachms. The sums calculated in obols and tetartémoria could be small silver (obols) as well as bronze coins of Philip II, Alexander III and the city of Philippoi. It should be noted that the tetartémoria could only have been bronze coins struck by one of these latter. Long after the introduction of bronze coinage in Northern Greece the term designating the quarter-obol was still in use.
