摘要

The paper examined library support for CovenantudUniversity’s core value of capacity building. Theudobjectives of the paper include: to explore the context ofudcapacity building in Covenant University, examineudvarious capacity building initiatives available to faculty,udstaff and students and to enumerate different ways theudUniversity Library supports capacity building in theudUniversity. Some of the capacity building initiatives ofudthe University as identified by this study are; in-houseudpostgraduate studies, trainings and conferences, facultyudadvance, total man concept, and building the totaludgraduate. The study highlighted creation of escapistudreading, , selective dissemination of information,udempowerment of Heads of Departments/Units/Deansudthrough targeted literature and creation of spiritual andudleadership development section among others as some ofudthe roles of the library in supporting the CovenantudUniversity core value of capacity building. The paperudconcluded by noting that it is necessary for individualsudand organizations to accord capacity building a pride ofudplace in the scheme of things as this is essential forudmaximum performance and productivity
