摘要

This master thesis investigates in which way health strategy solutions regarding alcohol as a health-related and societal problem are unfolded under the auspices of the municipality. It is based upon em-pirics produced by participatory observation of a health promotion planning practice in a Danish work-ing group across five municipalities. Regarding the liability of health promotion, this municipal working group has been set up to plan and work out a campaign informing male citizens about the correlation between an overconsumption of alcohol and the risk of getting cancer. The aim of the thesis is to in-vestigate how the making of the health promotion campaign proceed, and how the working group through their discussions and linguistic usage during the planning practice construct and develop agreements about health categories and understandings of health. Furthermore, the objective is to ex-amine which potentials this way of practise and developing the campaign brings in the Danish field of health.The thesis investigates the above on the basis of a deconstructive approach and on the basis of the approach of social constructivism and the theoretically notions of Pierre Bourdieu.The thesis sheds lights on how the working group through their discussions and linguistic usage in the planning of the campaign reproduce the field of health’s doxa, symbolic assets and principles for cate-gorising. That is for instance that the target group of male citizens’ daily alcohol intake is not an ac-ceptable conduct and is regarded unhealthy seen from a biomedical point of view, and therefore the objective of the campaign is to get the male citizens to realize that his conduct needs to change. For this purpose the working group exercises symbolic power by means of the alcohol campaign.Likewise, this thesis sheds lights on how the methodical freedom in the planning practise of the cam-paign implies that the decisions on the layout of the alcohol campaign become arbitrary, which causes that some decisions make slow process. It also causes that some decision-making gets hasty. In closing the alcohol campaign’s ability to affect the male citizens’ health is discussed.
