Resource Allocation and Mine Costing Model (RAMC) produces supply-pricerelationships for 30 coal types, further distinguished between surface and deep mines, and 32 producing regions based on the 1989 Energy Information Administration (EIA) Demonstrated Reserve Base, engineering estimates of mining costs for various surface and underground mines, and other region-specific and coal-type-specific cost elements. The model serves as a major component of the Intermediate Future Forecasting System (IFFS), the National Coal Model (NCM), the International Coal Trade Model (ICTM), and the Coal Supply and Transportation Model (CSTM).
