Control of Tuberculosis in Correctional Facilities: A Guide for Health Care Workers.

In the May 1989 issue of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, the Department of Health and Human Services' Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Tuberculosis issued recommendations For the Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis in Correctional Facilities. Since then, the Division of Tuberculosis Elimination has received numerous requests from correctional facilities, as well as from state and local health departments, for educational materials to facilitate training of correctional facility staff. The Guide seeks to provide clear, accurate information to health care staff on the prevention and control of TB in correctional facilities. It can be used in developing educational programs or as a reference manual for health care workers.
