The report examines the major issues associated with developing new fuel economystandards. It builds on work that Office of Technology Assessment (OTA) conducted for its recently delivered report, Energy Technology Choices: Shaping Our Future, requested by the House Energy and Commerce Committee and its Subcommittee on Energy and Power. The Energy and Natural Resources Committee's request asked the
