摘要

The aim of this work is to investigate the accuracy and validity conditions ofthe First-Order Second-Moment method for the determination of the probability density function of the buckling load of axially compressed cylindrical shells with random initial imperfections. The investigation is performed by making some assumptions about the initial imperfections and by computing the theoretical cumulative probability density function numerically. This numerically computed theoretical statistical analysis needs more calculations of deterministic buckling loads in comparsion with the First-Order Second-Moment moment in order to achieve a higher accuracy.
