Method for Building and Evaluating Formal Specifications of Object-OrientedConceptual Models of Database Systems

This report describes a Method for Conceptual Modeling (MCM) for building andevaluating formal specifications of object-oriented models of database system behavior. First, a general framework for information system development methods is given. In general, the following elements are needed: requirements determination, conceptual modeling, implementation, and project management methods. MCM is a conceptual modeling method, and must be supplemented with three other kinds of methods. These are: observation, induction, and evaluation methods. In this report, the author concentrates on induction and evaluation methods and merely makes a list of relevant observation methods. The result of following MCM is a conceptual model.
