The purpose of the project was to develop a gas convenience outlet (GCO) forconnecting portable or moveable gas appliances. The project included three phases to develop: (1) a basic GCO, (2) an advanced GCO for connecting 'Smart' gas appliances to the SMART HOUSE communications/control system being developed under a separate GRI program, and (3) the standards and code provisions necessary for introducing GCOs into the marketplace.
