Nonparametric Stochastic Simulation of Streamflow in the Colorado

The report presents research on the nonparametric simulation of streamflowconducted under USGS grant award number 1434-92-G2265 to Utah State University from August 1992 to September 1995. The main part of the report is a short summary giving the objective and key ideas behind the accomplishments. It is followed by appendices that comprise the research papers submitted and published during the course of this work. We have developed new procedures for simulation of streamflow: (1) A Nonparametric Markov procedure (NPp) based on kernel density estimation, (2) A nearest neighbor bootstrap for time series resampling, and (3) A kernel based nonparametric disaggregation model.
