In this issue the papers of the oral presentation of the Symposium onCharacterization of Interaction of Polymers and Colloids with Surfaces on 9-10 of June 1997, are published. The symposium was organized in Lappeenranta University of Technology, Department of Chemical Technology, by the Laboratory of Technical Polymer Chemistry. The total number of papers in this Proceedings is 13. The aim of the symposium is to review latest developments in the research on membrane technology and colloid science and to enable scientists, engineers and manufacturers to discuss the current state of this field.
