The objective of the study was to characterize mechanical pulp fines and to211u001edetermine factors affecting their properties. The goal was to find relevant and 211u001erelatively easily measurable paramters to unambiguously characterize papermaking 211u001eproperties of fines. For these purposes, a novel image analysis method was 211u001edeveloped.
