A Dermal and non-dietary ingestion exposure workshop was sponsored by U.S. EPA's211u001eNational Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) on September 17, 1998. The purpose 211u001eof this workshop was to gather information on the state-of-the-art in measuring 211u001eand assessing children's exposures to pesticides via dermal contact with 211u001econtaminated surfaces and objects as well as by non-dietary ingestion. This 211u001eworkshop focused on characterizing concentrations of pesticides in the exposure 211u001emedia (on surface/object) and on quantifying the transfer of contamiants to the 211u001eskin surface or mouth. The report discusses the focus of the dermal exposure 211u001eworkshop, summarizes the workshop discussions and identifies research priorities 211u001ebased on a review of the literature, workshop discussions, and expert input.
