Plan for Developing a Materials Performance Database for the Texas Department of211 Transportation

The materials used within the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) are211u001eundergoing a period of change. The purpose of this report is to develop the 211u001einformation necessary to develop (for TxDOT) a method or a database for 211u001emonitoring the performance of transportation materials. This report builds a 211u001efoundation based on information obtained from an expert working group meeting, 211u001efrom a state-of-the-art literature review, and from an analysis of TxDOT's 211u001ecurrent computing and testing programs. Upon this foundation, the researchers 211u001ehave built a scope and methodology for identifying data elements for inclusion in 211u001ethe database. Furthermore, a sample prioritization of data elements is performed. 211u001eThe report also discusses a conceptual framework for the proposed database. 211u001eFinally, conclusions are summarized and future research directions are explored.
