These proceedings summarize the results of a symposium designed to address211u001ecurrent issues of agencies with wildland fire protection responsibility at the 211u001eFederal and State levels. The topics discussed at the symposium include fire 211u001eeconomics, planning, and policy on wildfire and prescribed fire. Representatives 211u001efrom several international organizations presented the experiences in their 211u001ecountries on the same issues. Forty-five papers and 12 posters were presented at 211u001ethe symposium that described the issues and presented state-of-the-art techniques 211u001eto address technical issues on fire economics, planning, and policy currently 211u001efacing land and fire managers.
