Analysis of Data from the 1995 NARSTO-Northeast Study. Volume 5. Three-211 Dimensional Analysis of Aircraft and Upper-Air Meteorological Data

High-ozone concentrations in the Northeast are the result of a complex interplay211u001ebetween precursor emissions and meteorological conditions. To better understand 211u001ethese factors, a major field data collection program was undertaken in the 211u001enortheastern United States under the auspices of NARSTO-Northeast. NARSTO 211u001e(formerly the North American Research Strategy for Tropospheric Ozone) is a 211u001epublic/private partnership formed to conduct research on ground-level ozone and 211u001eaerosols in North America. Data collection efforts during NARSTO-Northeast were 211u001efocused within and just to the west of the urban corridor running from Washington 211u001eD.C. to Boston, but the study area included all of New England and stretched as 211u001efar west as Ohio and as far south as southern Virginia. An extensive database of 211u001eroutine and supplemental surface and upper-air meteorological and air quality 211u001eobservations was compiled as a result of this effort.
