National Job Corps Study: The Short-Term Impacts of Job Corps on Participants'Employment and Related Outcomes

The Job Corps program has long been a central part of federal efforts to providetraining for disadvantaged youths. Because of the high costs of the programs intensive services, which are provided mainly in a residential setting, policymakers require information on the effectiveness of Job Corps. This report presents the findings of the National Job Corps Study on short-term impacts of the program on participants employment and related outcomes.
