Development and Evaluation of a GIS Mapping System for West Virginia's Hatfield and McCoy Trail System Final rept

The proposed research is to implement the benefits of GPS and GIS mapping capabilities into the Hatfield and McCoy Trails system. The project will provide GPS and GIS mapping training. GPS technology will improve data collection time and accuracy of trail data, and collected data can be used with other digital data for further needs. The project will install GIS mapping system to manage new trail data. The system can produce a more accurate digital map inventory of the trail system for 911 emergency vehicle access in case of an accident in trail. The project will also provide web-based GIS system for the general public incorporating the trail database.
