摘要

The purpose of this experiment was to test the effects of integrating multiple trophic levels into an aquaculture system as well as to compare the growth of organisms included in this system to those grown in monoculture. Ideally, this integration would benefit the system by reducing waste accumulation that has become so prevalent a problem in monoculture projects and it would provide additional commercially important species that should increase the economic potential of the system. The results were positive in that a system including Tautogolabrus adspersus, Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis, and Ulva lactuca, commonly known as Cunner, Green sea urchin, and Sea Lettuce, showed evidence of minimal waste accumulation and positive growth in the organisms.
