Consequently, it was decided to conduct an investigation to study comparative effects of solar radiation upon the temperature of metal plate whose surfaces were covered with various types of surface finish. The study of surface was composed of two phases:nPhase I – The effect of “weathering” on the rise above ambient air temperature of metal plates with light colored surface finishes exposed to solar radiation.nPhase II – Measurement of the temperatures of metal plates with surfaces in common outdoor use.
