ULTRASONIC TESTING OF SPECIAL CAST ARMOR WITH THE WATERTOWN ARSENAL ULTRASONIC FLAW PLOTTING EQUIPMENT

To present results of ultrasonic tests of special cast directed at the determination of thickness uniformity. A secondary objective was to inspect the armor for flaws.nIn the space of two weeks, 58 plates of armor were completely checked as required. In addition to the required thickness measurements, flaws were found which could have a significant effect on ballistic evaluation results.
