Theoretical considerations, supported by bench tests, have shown that at least a 5-db improvement in threshold sensitivity can be ex¬pected by the use of frequency modulation as compared to the presently used amplitude-modulation system. Using a cathode-follower-type block¬ing oscillator circuit, it is possible to produce a satisfactory, low-cost FM flight equipment.
