A study of the insiscld shock shape and pressure distribution about thick two-dimensional and axial symmetric dowdies was conducted in the Princeton unti-wersity Helium Hypersonic Tummel. Details were obtained for flat and semicircular leading edges for mach numbers between it and 19. From the scmlieren pictures, the shock shape, detachment distance and sonic point on the shock were found, similar pressure distributions were obtained for corresponding two-dimensioned and axial symmetric series.
