Sodium-Silicate Bonded Shell Molds

The procedure used for making silicate bonded shell molds involves premixing the sand waterglass, then spraying the mix on a hot matchplate until a thin layer (half mold) is developed. Prior to the pour, two mold haves, which were oven cured and ejected from the matchplate, are bonded together to from a complete shell.
