To conduct research investigations of multiple-effect evapora-tion of saline waters by steam from solar radiation. The work under this contract consisted of the preparation of preliminary designs, of the calculation of performance and of estimates of gross costs of water production.nThis project entailed a preliminary study of the feasibility of producing distilled water from sea water by multiple-effect evaporation using steam generated in solar collectors of the parabolic cylindrical type. Preliminary design data and cost estimates have been obtained and the work completed. On the basis of the preliminary study, the following conclusions were reached by the contractor
