Report of Joint Task Force to Review Radiation Aspects of the Uranium Miners Study

摘要

A report of a task force to review the effects of radiation on uranium miners (SIC-1094) is presented. The study proposed by the task force focuses on quantitating selected biological characteristics of uranium miners as compared to appropriate control populations, establishing quantitatively known environmental factors existing in the mines emphasizing radon (10043922) and dust, determining the effects and importance of environmental factors on miners' health, and deriving technical recommendations for improving miner health and safety. Requirements for a complete study, scheduled or completed research contributing to this goal, and resources needed to conduct the entire study are discussed.
