Evaluation of Liquid-Liquid Heat Transfer for Large-Scale Desalination

摘要

The economical and large-scale transfer of heat by the direct contact of two immiscible liquids was studied. The study consisted of a comprehensive survey of a number of literatures associated with the problem, the analysis of all available direct-contact heat-transfer test data by the development of criteria which permitted their comparison with potentially analogous two-phase transport systems, and the formulation of several mathematical models to establish a basis for the projection of the maximum performance possible in direct-contact devices.
