Vaporization of Some Commercial Telluride Thermoelements

Surface vaporization rates, equilibrium and apparent vapor pressures, vaporization coefficients, and second law heats of vaporization are presented for three n-type and one p-type commercial telluride thermoelements. For comparison, similar data are presented for pure PbTe, SnTe, and (Pb(0.50)Sn(0.50)Te. The comparisons show that the equilibrium properties of the commercial materials are determined primarily by their major constituent. (Author)
