Assay of Mycoplasma Reference Reagents

The objectives of the project are to test and authenticate NIH Mycoplasma antiserum and seed reagents. Materials and methods are briefly summarized; a few minor modifications re. serology technique and immunization procedure are described. Testing of the first series received of NIH antisera by GI, MI, CF and IHA tests showed satisfactory homologous titers as well as the degree of specificity to be expected for each of the serology techniques used. Results obtained in immunofluorescence experiments, using BBL conjugated antisera, confirmed reports from that laboratory. (Author)
