The Artificial Heart Assessment Panel was charged with providing,by June 1, 1973, a report detailing the 'economic,ethical,legal,medical,psychiatric,and social implications of a totally implantable artificial heart'. This report presents the opinions and conclusions of a panel of ten consultants,representing the disciplines of sociology,psychiatry,ethics,law,economics,political science,and medicine.
