Management by Objectives: Guidelines for Managerial Decision Making.

Management By Objectives denotes many different kinds of programs serving a variety of functions. Rather than discuss each of the various forms that MBO can take, this report will emphasize the processes that are critical to the effectiveness of MBO, regardless of the function that it will serve. This report will fill this void by high- lighting what is known about MBO from investigations of actual implementations, and by indicating how this information can be applied to management's planning, implementing and evaluating of MBO. The basic concepts of Management By Objectives will be discussed, as well as the ways in which it can contribute to organizational effectiveness. Suggestions and recommendations will be offered based on the most current and reliable data that is available.
