Job Analysis of the First Three Levels of the Accountant/Auditor Classes

This report describes a comprehensive job analysis study of the first three levels of the accountant/auditor classes. There was a definite need for such a study and for the development of content valid examination materials for these occupations. In addition, this study provided the testing ground for the operational tryout of a methodological model for the development of content valid examination materials. The primary emphasis of this model was on the development of a procedure for conducting job analyses primarily through the mail in conjunction with State and local government agencies. A four-part self-administering job analysis inventory was developed and distributed to subject-matter experts across the Untied States.
