摘要

The report describes the physical and biological features of a scientific reserve located on the southwestern slopes of Mount St. Helens, Washington. Wetlands (marshes, swamps, and ponds), Pinus contorta forests on young pyroclastic flows, and a very high biomass stand of Abies procera are notable ecosystems.
