A Mathematical Theory of Pure Exchange Economies Without the No-Critical-Point Hypothesis

The main results of this thesis concern the general structure of the set of first order equilibria and of the set of first order critical Pareto points in a pure exchange economy with l commodities and m consumers. Starting from the assumption that each smooth function represents a preference relation the author has defined, making use of transversality theorems, a dense set T of utility tuples.
