Capital Yacht Club Marina Replacement Facility, Subsurface Investigation, Section L001b

Results are summarized of six test borings made in the area of Section L001b of the Washington Metropolitan Area, Metro system where the Capital Yacht Club Marina replacement facility is planned. The exploration is carried out in an area directly outboard of Maine Avenue centered on the location of the existing sunken tubes in Section L001 and extending to a distance of approximately 280 feet outboard of the existing bulkhead in Washington Channel. The report includes two geologic sections through the planned Marina location incorporating the new borings with borings made earlier in Section L001, logs of the six new test borings, results of laboratory tests and soil samples and comments on foundation support conditions.
