The publication presents an overview of the program of research into the biological effects of ionizing radiation conducted by the Bureau of Radiological Health from the late 1950's through September 1979. It includes a tabular summary of current and previous experimental and epidemiologic studies related to medical, occupational, and nuclear fallout exposures; abstracts of current and previous studies; a preliminary plan for continued research; and budget summaries.
