Guidelines for Using Vanpools and Carpools as a TSM Technique

This manual is designed to assist both existing and new ridesharing agencies in their continuing development as successful, community-oriented service organizations. It integrates the results of literature search, contacts with local ridesharing agencies, and findings from decision analysis panels and surveys conducted in four metropolitan areas of the U.S. (Albany, N.Y.; Houston; Minneapolis; and San Francisco). The manual provides guidelines in setting up a community ridesharing program, and readers should consider this document as a planning guide to which they add their own ideas from new readings and observations. This will provide an information source current with the dynamic field of ridesharing and their own needs.
