Training of Rural Community Development Workers in Health Education, with Special Reference to Water Supply Protection and Use/Maintenance of Sanitation Facilities

Formal training programs for community health workers often fail to adequately equip trainees for work in the field. This report outlines an improved approach, developed with special reference to water supply and sanitation projects, which stresses an active problemsolving approach to the training process and the provision of posttraining support in the field.
