Geothermal Energy Market Study on the Atlantic Coastal Plain: Technical Feasibility of Use of Eastern Geothermal Energy in Vacuum Distillation of Ethanol Fuel

The report is a limited analysis of the application of modest temperature geothermal water in combination with a vacuum system for the distillation of fuel grade ethanol. The case analyzed was for geothermal water temperatures typical of what might be found on the Atlantic Coastal Plain, i.e., 150 degrees F, and a vacuum of 130 mm Hg, i.e., currently in use in a farm scale vacuum distillation system in Ohio.
