Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Handicap in Programs and Activities Assisted or Conducted by the Department of Defense

The Directive implements Public Law 93-112, Section 504; Public Law 93-516, Section 111; Public Law 95-602, Section 119; and Department of Justice Regulation, 'Implementation of Executive Order 12250, Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Handicap in Federally Assisted Programs,' August 11, 1981, to prohibit discrimination based on handicap in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance disbursed by the Department of Defense and in programs and activities conducted by the Department of Defense.
